Seattle's most storied crew since 1949
The Seafair Pirates
BANG! A blast of black smoke and the smell of gunpowder fill the air — Seattle's swashbucklers have arrived.
Who we are
Seattle's High-Humored Heist
The Seattle Seafair Pirates are an elite troupe of 40+ scallywags and swashbucklers who have become synonymous with Seafair revelry. Originally members of the Washington State Press Club's Ale & Quail Society, the Pirates banded together in 1949 to promote Seattle and Seafair while having fun and serving the community.
Despite their bad-guy image, the Pirates make dozens of appearances annually to hospitals, nursing homes, and community events. During the height of Seattle's Seafair celebration, they appear at several events and parades each day.
The 40+ Pirates carefully select their members based on an ability to mix well with the public and unique musical or theatrical talent — tested for a full year to ensure they can safely entertain and interact with the community.
